Receipt Dérive is a map of receipts using receipts as a medium of investigation. These ‘disposable’ items not just reflect economic behaviour, but also connect to our emotional lives. Receipts bear witness to a complex web of interconnections with the tax system, political manoeuvring and local labour dynamics. Inspired by Debord’s concept ‘dérive’, visitors can roam on this map and upload their receipts and stories behind receipts.
How do I add a receipt?
Click the "+" button, fill in the required information. Once submitted, you'll see the confirmation message.
What happens to my receipt?
Your receipt will be processed and added to the map. It may take a few days to appear.
Can I edit or delete my submission?

How to calculate work hours?
Work hours are calculated based on your average hourly income. You can estimate the time needed to earn the amount spent on the receipt. The number of hours could be 1 decimal place.
Why are work hours important?
By translating monetary value into work hours, we aim to highlight the often invisible labour behind our consumption. This can foster a deeper understanding of the economic and social dynamics at play.
All submissions are processed anonymously. We do not store personal names or contact details unless explicitly provided. Uploaded images are used solely for the archival visualization on this map.
